Compliance Engineer or Senior Compliance Engineer: Reporting into the Group Electrical / Electronic and Functional Safety Manager, you will join a highly focussed and passionate team leading the delivery of electrical / electronic engineering across the business.

The role is within the E+E Compliance team which has responsibility to ensure that all new Product programmes meet the required Functional safety technical deliverables by the associated gateways. Hence the role requires technical knowledge, hands-on experience, project delivery process understanding, and the ability to work with diverse teams to ensure delivery.

Senior Compliance Engineer Responsibilities:

• Group E+E Senior Compliance Engineer - reviewing Functional safety content of all NPIP (New Project Introduction Process) projects against the NPIP deliverables to ensure robust delivery.
• Will need to work closely with business units regarding Functional safety deliverables to support the TR (Technology readiness) process.
• Keep status trackers up to date, showing current status of all responsible projects.
• Work with, and coach, the engineering teams who are responsible for delivering the required project deliverables around the UK and globe.
• Facilitate the engineering teams to ensure efficient and robust delivery to complex Functional safety systems.
• Running workshops, reviews as required, driving projects forward and collecting the required evidence.
• Identifying project technical and timing risks and potential mitigations.
• Drive re-use of components and approaches.
• Help develop our NPIP and TR process to drive more efficient delivery, seamless reporting and reducing issues and change.
• Implement latest requirements and develop best practices in line industry specific functional safety guidelines i.e. ISO13849
• Implement latest requirements and develop best practices in line functional safety analysis tools i.e. BGIA SISTEMA

Senior Compliance Engineer Requirements:

Essential:
• Practical knowledge of functional safety systems and all associated terminology.
• Hands on experience of developing and analysing functional safety systems.
• Experience taking complex systems from concept through to delivery.
• Understanding of associated functional safety risk assessments.
• Experience of systems engineering and V model completion including:
o Requirements capture & generation
o Validation and verification activities
o External certification approvals
o Qualified to HND/degree level in a relevant technology discipline or equivalent experience.
o Ability to create and review associated FMEA / fault tree documents.

Desired:
• Project delivery experience and support.
• Understanding of and adherence to quality systems and processes.
• Working knowledge of safety system modelling techniques.
• Sound IT skills to help reporting and metric creation.
• 3 years practical understanding of system delivery standards - ISO13849 / ISO15998 / ISO26262 or equivalent.
• Understanding of IEC 61508 Functional Safety.
• Ability to create and review associated fault tree analysis documents.
