CAD OPERATOR / DRAUGHTSMAN IN STAFFORDSHIRE

CAD Operator/draughtsperson required to join a leading supplier of specialist products and services to the Gas production industry.

You will ideally be degree qualified and have gained some experience of designing and draughting of relevant components, such as pipe work, fixtures, connectors, valves etc.

Job Description

Mechanical CAD Operator
This position reports to: Lead / Senior CAD Engineer
Primary Duties:
Support the Mechanical design department in the production of complete drawing packages including accurate dimensions.
Using Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD, be able to demonstrate -
Demonstrate technical ability working on large mechanical projects, ideally in the Oil & Gas Industry or Petrochem.
Be able to produce and control 2D drawings and 3D models where applicable in accordance with company working protocols.
Comply with usage of a Data Management System (Vault).
Have an understanding of Gas Pipework Designs.
Assist in developing and maintaining set mechanical standards used across the organisation aiming for continual improvement.
To update and modify drawings in line with the Orbital QA procedures where modifications are required via ECN system.

Secondary Duties:
To assist and support other members of the CAD department as and when required.
Provide CAD training and mentoring to apprentices and graduate engineers.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Skills:
To be proficient with Autodesk Inventor 2018 & AutoCAD 2018
To be proficient in the use of Excel and Microsoft Product Range
To be a team player and support the development of the CAD operations with a personal desire for continual improvement.
To be able to work on own initiative & prioritise workload.

Desirable Skills:
Bentley Microstation V8i / Connect 10
Experience of using an ERP or MRP system such as SAP.
Previous experience in the Oil and Gas industry or Petrochem

This role is predominantly based in the Staffordshire office. Visits to client premises/sites will be infrequent but could involve overnight stays.

Working Hours - Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
