MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER IN STAFFORDSHIRE

Mechanical Design Engineers needed - Specialist machines.

Candidates with strong engineering skills to help to grow and evolve the machine range, assist with developing new systems and maintaining the highest possible level of reliability within an increasingly technically sophisticated product.

Mechanical Design Engineer Role:

• Identifying critical problems, attending design reviews and project reviews as required.

• Liaising closely with suppliers and customers to achieve high quality, cost effective products
• Initiating ideas and performing needs analysis.

• Communicating technical information to customers, team members, suppliers and other business units.

• Design detailing, bill of materials compilation and drawing release.

• An ability to work with other members of a multi-disciplined team including Manufacturing, Service and Marketing disciplines.

Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:

• Educated to HND/Degree level (or equivalent) in an associated mechanical engineering discipline.

• A competent CAD user and a working knowledge of other associated supporting software tools. Unigraphics NX6 is useful but other 3D CAD is acceptable.

• Product knowledge of one or more of the following would be advantageous: military vehicles, commercial vehicles (heavy goods, buses, trucks, vans), agricultural/off-highway vehicles or general automotive vehicles or heavy machinery.
